If you're looking for some of the best places in to get your spook on this year, you should try one of these spooktacular attractions, renowned for scaring the pants off their clients year after year. Located between Baltimore and Washington DC, there isn't another horror venue as renowned for it's terror inspiring rides as Bennett's Curse. With a phenomenal 40,000 sq ft of space, Bennet's Curse is actually 4 haunted houses in one, full of some of the most terrifying and innovative scares in the world. 2015 sees the addition of Sanctuary of Insanity, where you're put under the tender care of Dr. Nolan Taylor and his band of vile cohorts.

When it comes to realism, none can beat the world famous 13th Gate Haunted House. It's name comes from it's tradition of being divided into 13 positively horrifying rooms of torment. Everything here comes with that special Cajun flair that can only be found down in Louisiana. So if you're feeling brave, slip on by the 13th Gate Haunted House in Baton Rouge.

The legend of the 13th floor in hotels is a pernicious one, so much so that many hotels and buildings completely lack a 13th floor. Others, like those used by this fabulous haunted house production out of Phoenix, AZ, have tucked away the 13th floor in their basement. The creators have cracked open these age old spaces, full of musty air and lost secrets, to build their bastion of horror. Come along little children, the spiders are hungry.

History is the foundation of a haunting, and the Verdun Manor has a legend straight out of the horror movies. Baron Michael Verdun was said to reside here with his wife, Lady Cassandra, rumored to be a vampiress. Verdun manor was built in secrecy, with deep cellars and twisting corridors, and all those who might know the secrets of the place vanishing when the work was complete. Now Thrillvania opens up this manor house to you and your fellow victi.... thrill-seekers, are you brave enough to chance becoming the next experiment?

Houston Texas has a special treat for those who just can't get enough scream in their dreams. Scream world is a horror extravaganza separated into five themed experiences. The Zombie Graveyard hosts the bog-rotten corpses of the living dead, while clowns gone mad torment you in the Clown Asylum maze. The Swamp is known for using only the most cutting edge horror technology, while John's Slaughterhouse and the Edge of Darkness reveal the secret underbelly of modern society. Come along if you dare, for one or all.

Pennhurst Asylum is a unique horror experience, the hautned house legitimately being tucked away into the Administrative building of the old state school. Many of the items used in this attraction have the brand of authenticity by being objects from actual use in this location. High tech animatronics, digital sound, and actors who love their job are just some of the things that makes this an experience of bone-chilling fun.

Who knew Southern California could give you such a chill? Knott's berry farm sheds its family friendly atmosphere to dive into the dark for the Halloween Season. Far and away one of the largest and best horror venues in the area, there are endless mazes and new features every year, including Patient Zero, Elvira, and much much more. There are dark corners of this experience for those brave enough to seek them.

Kim's Krypt has had the distinction of refining it's terror finesse over twenty seven years. Each year you are guaranteed to get yet another horror packed experience, with nary a repeat of past years. Located 10 minutes from Downtown Philadelphia, the Scare House is the destination for those looking for a bout of pants-wetting fun. This location has been featured on Good Morning America, and Elijah wood raved about it after having gone through it. If you're looking for a star-studded experience put together by teams who worked in horror films like Trick r' Treat and the upcoming Krampus film, make your way to Philadelphia for the scares of your life.

Haunted Hoochie is a fantastic experience tucked away in West Pataskala, OH, and plays up the old barker schlock of travelling fairs. The carnival atmosphere is drummed up from the very beginning, promising to bring you a dark and old school experience with some of the richest terrors from history blended together for a modern ride of terror.
