There are a number of child actors who might have touched our hearts with their performances onscreen. While we continue to see them on TV, they have passed on and gone into another world. Some, you might not even know about. Here are 20 child actors who passed away way too early.

Cory Monteith

Remember watching Glee and thinking, "wow that guy is so gorgeous"? And then remember the day he died and everyone of every age was absolutely devastated? It's still impossible to believe that Cory Monteith is truly gone, but he will never be forgotten.

Brittany Murphy

Brittany was an amazing child actor who was doing well as an adult too. She was just 32 when she passed away in her bathroom. It is said she had a cardiac arrest and that caused her death.

Aaliyah

Aaliyah was best known for her thriving music career; it would be soon that her acting career would jump start as well. In 2001, Aaliyah's life was taken by a plane crash, and nothing more of her  legend could go further other than beautiful memories.

Michelle Thomas

Michelle Thomas left two marks in both "The Cosby Show", as well as "Family Matters", playing Steve Urkel's girlfriend. In the end, Michelle died after suffering from a very rare form of cancer.

Paul Walker

This "Fast and Furious" star died too fast, and too Furiously. Paul Walker ultimately died in a car accident. Although the way he died is ironic, its still a tragedy in  its own.

Heath Ledger

Heath Ledger was one of the most versatile actor's to truly make his mark in Hollywood. He died at the age of twenty eight due to an overdose of barbiturates.

Marilyn Monroe

Always known as the icon of beauty, there was something beneath Marilyn's golden shell. As the saying goes, there truly is more to than what could meet the eye. Marilyn Monroe committed suicide at a young age, and she will forever be a beauty figure to the world. 

James Dean

Remembered for his lead role in "Rebel Without a Cause", and also being a symbol of sex appeal, James Dean is a name to mark in your books. James died in a car accident at the age of twenty four, leaving his stunning beauty in photographs and films forever.

Brandon Lee

Brandon Lee specialized in the acting field as well in a career of Karate. Lee died of an accidental gunshot wound while filming on the set for his latest movie. He was only twenty-eight years old.

John Belushi

John Belushi  was one of the original cast members of "Saturday Night Live". He died at the age of thirty three after overdosing on heroin and cocaine mixed together.

Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee is one of the most famous martial artists and actors to have lived. His death has been a mystery to many, but the overall conclusion is that it was caused by cerebral edema.

Misty Upham

Misty Upham is a well known Native-American actress who had starred in the movie, "Frozen River". After having gone missing, Misty's body was found at the bottom of a cliff which seemed to be a suicide. To this day, no one will truly know.

Chris Farley

Chris Farley will forever be remembered as one of the funniest cast members of "Saturday Night Live". He died at the age of thirty-three from an overdose of drugs. It's obvious that Chris Farley is probably doing his stand-up comedy gigs in heaven, while we remember him here on earth.

Andy Whitfield

It's impossible to not look at  this picture without looking in awe at Andy Whitfield's true beauty. He was well known for his lead role in "Sparticus: Blood and Sand". Andy tragically died from lymphoma leaving behind his wife and two children.

Jayne Mansfield

Alongside Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield was also an acclaimed actress and sex icon in her time. Mansfield died at the age of thirty-four in what was a horrific accident, and a tragedy for her fans and family.

Scotty Beckett

Scotty is another child star who became a victim to drug overdose. He died at the age of 38. Scotty's claim to fame was in the movie 'Our Gang'.

Rob Knox

Do you remember Marcus Belbly From Harry Potter and the Deathly Harrows? Rob portrayed the character of Marcus before he was stabbed to death at the age of 19 when trying to protect his sibling.

Tara Correa-McMullen

Tara was seen in Judging Amy where she was murdered by a gang. At 16, she was actually killed in a similar manner by a shotgun blast.

Matthew Garber

Matthew was the kid that everyone loved for his role in 'Mary Poppins'. He was just 21 when he passed away due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis.

Christopher Pettiet

Christopher was another young star who fell prey to drug overdose. He was best known for his role in 'Don't Tell My Mom The Babysitter's Dead'.

Bobby Driscoll

Bobby was one of the most popular Disney child stars who made multiple appearances in movies such as Song of the South, So Dear To My Heart, and Treasure Island. After a not getting any work later on, Bobby became a drug addict and died of a drug overdose when her was 31.

River Phoenix

River who was best known for his role in 'Stand By Me' passed away due to a drug overdose at the age of 23.

Madison Wright Morris

Madison who rose to fame with her performance in "Grace Under Fire" died of a heart attack when she was just 21. She had a heart transplant when she was 15.

Dominique Dunn

Dominique Dunn is best known for starring in the classic horror film, "Poltergeist". She died at the age of twenty two after being strangled to death by her ex-boyfriend.

Justin Pierce

Justin was best known to play the character of Casper in Kids. His career didn't go so well and he eventually committed suicide by hanging himself when he was just 25.

Sawyer Sweeten

Sawyer Sweeten was most famously known for his role as Geoffrey Barone in the renowned series, "Everybody Loves Raymond". Ultimately, at the age of nineteen, Sawyer took his life with a gun. He was definitely taken too soon from this lifetime.

Skye McCole Bartusiak

If any of you have ever watched the classical film. "The Patriot", then immediately you'll recognize this cute little girl, also known as Skye McCole Bartusiak. Unfortunately, an overdose of drugs took her life too quick.

Corey Haim

Corey became a popular household name in the 80's with the roles he played is some of the best movies including Lucas, Silver Bullet and Murphey's Romance. Corey was a drug addict for a long time, but it was pneumonia that claimed his life in 2010.

Anissa Jones

Anissa was popular for her role as Buffy on Family Affair. She died when she was just 18 after a drug overdose.

Jonathan Brandis

Jonathan was a popular child actor who worked in a number of TV commercials and was also seen in the popular NBC series seaQuest DSV. Jonathan attempted suicide by hanging himself and later succumbed to the injuries caused by the attempt.

Dana Plato

She was another young actor from the serial Different Strokes who died way too early. Dana was just 35 when she died of a drug overdose.

Carl Switzer

Carl was a popular actor who starred in some amazing movies including The Defiant Ones (1958), Our Gang Follies of 1938 (1937) and I Love You Again (1940). He was shot dead when he was just 31 by a man who claimed Carl owed him money.

Heather O’Rourke

Heather was a popular child actress who was discovered by director Steven Spielberg when she was just 5. She starred in Poltergeist, and its sequels, Poltergeist II and Poltergeist III, however she did not manage to complete the 3rd part since she died of a cardiac arrest when she was just 12.

Judith Barsi

Judith was a young star who achieved a lot of success. She appeared in a number of TV commercials and movies, and is best known for her role in the movie Jaws. Judith's father could not deal with her success and murdered her when she was just 10!

Bridgette Andersen

Bridgette was one of the most popular child stars you know. Known for her role in Savannah Smiles, the actress passed away when she was just 21 years due to a drug overdose.

Gary Coleman

It's hard to forget the cute kid who continued to appear in Different Strokes for a long time. Garys line from the series 'What you talkin' about WIllis' became very popular. Gary had a brain hemorrhage at 42 and passed away.

Lee Thomson Young

Lee Thompson Young, one of the biggest teenage heartthrobs in Disney, was best known for his role in "Friday Night Lights". For many years, he had struggled with Bipolar Disorder, and ultimately took his life close before his thirties.

Brad Renfro

Brad Renfro had starred in many television shows, but more so in the news for his reckless behavior. His death was ruled as an overdose of heroine and morphine combined.

Simone Battle

It would be impossible to ever forget this beautiful, talented woman. Her talent ultimately pushed her through "X-Factor", and beyond to a film career. In 2014, Battle committed suicide after dealing with major depression for years. Rest in paradise, Simone!

Michael Cuccioni

Both known for his daunting music, and his appearance on "Baywatch", Michael Cuccione was always a household name. Cuccione died of conditions related to cancer at a young age of sixteen.

Chyna

Chyna is best known for her pornographic acting as  well as her success in the wrestling field. She was found dead at fourty-six, due to an overdose of anti-anxiety medication.

Natasha Richardson

Take a look at this beautiful woman, and imagine her gorgeous British accent in the "Parent Trap". Natasha Richardson was best known for that  role, as well as a successful career on Broadway. Her life ended following a tragic skiing accident, in which to this day we  still mourn her loss.

Steve Irwin

Now this is quite the heartbreaking story of our childhood fave taken too soon. Steve Irwin was in the middle of filming an episode for his show when he got stung in the heart by a stingray and ultimately bled to death. It's a sad feeling knowing that the younger generation will never get to experience Mr. Irwin the way others did in their livetimes.

Bernie Mac

Bernie Mac's major success was his own show, "The Bernie Mac Show" in which he succeeded to make all of the world shake with laughter from his comedy. Due to health complications that led to cardiac arrest, Bernie's life was taken too soon at the age of fifty.

Philip Seymour Hoffman

Philip Seymour Hoffman had become an acclaimed actor at an early stage in his career due to his mega talent and charm. It was a shock to everyone when he died due to a drug overdose.

Dana Hill

Dana was just 32 when Diabetes claimed her life. She slipped into a coma post when she suffered a massive stroke. She is best remembered for her role in 'European Vacation'.

James Gandolfini

James Gandolfini, aka Tony Soprano, will be a legend written in the books of eternity. His role in "The Sopranos" has influenced Hollywood forever. Sadly, Gandolfini died at an age too young due to an unexpected heart attack.

Michael Clarke Duncan

Michael Clark Duncan is well known for his roles throughout the decades in hit movies, as well as doing voice overs for children's movies as well. His rise to fame came from his role in the movie, "The Green Mile". At the age of fifty four, Duncan died of a  heart attack.
