Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are working together again on a studio album after 29 years. The latter is producing the new record, which is set to be released in November.
"Dr. Dre and I have been working on an album for the past two months," Snoop Dogg revealed in the podcast Know Mercy.
Snoop did not clarify during the interview exactly when the album will be released.
"But you're the first to hear this: Dr. Dre and I have been working on an album for the past two months," the Doggfather told Stephan A. Smith in conversation. "The album will be ready in November and is completely produced by Dre. We will celebrate the 30th anniversary of 'Doggystyle' next year."
MISSIONARY
The album will be called Missionary. Smith asks why they chose that name. "The first album was called 'Doggystyle,'" Snoop says with a laugh. With that statement, the rapper points out that "missionary," like "doggystyle," is a position expressed in the bedroom.
The two artists last worked together on an album in 1993.
20TH ALBUM
Missionary will be Snoop's 20th studio album. The rapper dropped the album Bacc On Death Row earlier this year, celebrating his return and appointment as an owner at the legendary label Death Row Records.
Earlier this year, the rappers joined Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent on stage during the Super Bowl halftime show.
