Do you know L&O was live for 20 years?! Holding the record (along with Gunsmoke) for the longest air Drama TV show ever. The series was nominated for 202 TV awards, winning 44 of them. Very impressive. Still the show was taken off at 2010 and we just had to go and find out what are beloved cast is up to these days.
Anthony Anderson as Detective Kevin Bernard
Okay, this guy was absolutely hilarious. You've gotta admit it, watching him has always been a pleasure.
Vincent D’Onofrio as Detective Robert Goren
Detectives Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames used to make one hellova team, don't you think? Ah, that's what you get when you have both brilliant actors and an amazing story! And Vincent D'Onofrio is indeed brilliant, as he's appeared in loads of movies - Jurassic World and Staten Island - and even in Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil.
Tamara Tunie as Dr. Melinda Warner
Okay, so Tamara Tunie may have starred as Jessica Griffin in As the World Turns, but for us, she'll always be the awesome Dr. Melinda Warner, Manhattan's Special Victims Unit medical examiner. Aw, we're already getting nostalgic!
Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy
Playing a badass NYC District Attorney is no easy business. Especially when you gotta do it for 16 years in a row. But hey, when you're Sam Waterston, everything is possible.
S. Epatha Merkerson as Lt. Anita Van Buren
Lieutenant Anita Van Buren was definitely a tough one, and let's face it - she had a pretty hot temper too. But the fact that she appears in no less than 391 episodes of Law & Order is proof that she was indeed one of the most beloved characters.
Richard Brooks as D.A. Paul Robinette
Richard Brooks did a great job on the first three seasons of Law & Order in the role of District Attorney Paul Robinette, and since then, he's been on The Good Wife and Being Mary Jane, two shows that are definitely worth watching.
Richard Belzer as Detective John Munch
Over the course of 14 years, Richard Belzer played Detective John Munch on Law & Order, but it total, he's actually been on eight amazing shows, some of which are The X-Files, The Wire, Arrest Development, The Beat and, of course, some other Law & Order chapters.
Paul Sorvino as Sgt. Phil Cerreta
Paul Sorvino may be the kind of guy you'd go for if you needed a badass but classy gangster, but somehow, in Law & Order, he managed to be one of the good guys, even he only did if for two seasons. Anyway, he hasn't run out of show, even after he stopped being on the show.
Michael Moriarty as D.A. Ben Stone
Michael Moriarty played District Attorney Ben Stone for the first four seasons of the show, and in case you didn't know, he actually won an Emmy too for his role as James Dean's father in the biopic of his life.
Linus Roache as D.A. Michael Cutter
From season 18 to season 20 of Law & Order, Linus Roache played District Attorney Michael Cutter in the most brilliant way possible. However, we have to admit that his role as King Ecbert in The Vikings does him justice too.
Kathryn Erbe as Detective Alexandra Eames
I think we can all agree that Kathryn Erbe totally rocked Criminal Intent in the role of Detective Alexandra Eames, whose reliability made her a truly invaluable member of the major case squad. Anyway, after Law & Order, she made appearances in Mother's House and The Love Guide.
Jill Hennessy as D.A. Claire Kincaid
In Law and Order, Jill played the District Attorney Kincaid for only three seasons, after which she moved on to another awesome TV show - The Good Wife, where she was accompanied by Chris Noth.
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Ed Green
Ed Green was definitely one of the good guys on the show, but at the same time, he never had anything against breaking the law for the greater good a.k.a. for catching a bad guy red-handed. Yes, people were always pulling his leg because he was a gambler with a taste for punk music, but hey, that made him interesting.
Jerry Orbach as Detective Lennie Briscoe
Detective Lennie Briscoe was one of the best characters on the show, and the fact that the brilliant Jerry Orbach played him from 1991 to 2004 may have something to do with this. I mean, come on, the guy even won a Tony! He passed away in 2004, when he was only 69, after battleing prostate cancer, though.
Jeremy Sisto as Detective Cyrus Lupo
Detective Cyrus Lupo, who rocked the last three seaons of Law & Order, was definitely an unconventional guy, just like the actor who played him, who's been in both Wicked City and The Returned since he left the show.
Ice-T as Detective Odafin Tutuola
He first appeared in an episode of Law & Order back in 2002, and his career in acting shows that rapping is by no means his only talent. Also, Ice-T and his wife Coco also have a little girl, so yay for them!
Fred Dalton Thompson as D.A. Arthur Branch
Did you know that Fred Dalton Thompson was actually the Senator of Tennessee from 19994 to 2003? In 2008, he actually stopped actin for a while, as he wanted to be the Republican candidate in the Presidency rate, but he stuck to acting eventually. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2015. He was 73 years old.
Dennis Farina as Detective Joe Fontana
Dennis Farina was on both Seasons 15 and 16 of Law & Order before he passed away in 2013. A very interesting thing about him is the fact that he was actually a cop in real life, and this made it pretty easy for him to get into character on TV.
Dann Florek as Captain Donald Cragen
Dann Florek played Captain Donald Cragen from 1999 to 2014, and he did a great job. He has also made some minor appearances in several movies since he left Law & Order, but he's mostly been in Venice, Cali, enjoying a chilled out life with his wife.
Christopher Meloni as Detective Elliot Stabler
Christopher Meloni has actually been nominated for an Emmy for his role as Detective Elliot Stabler, which she held on to for no less than 12 years, and his career stayed pretty interesting even after leaving Law & Order. He's been in True Blood, Man of Steel and even more movies in 2016.
Chris Noth as Detective Mike Logan
Chris Noth's character Mike Logan was pretty darn promiscuous, remember? Anyway, in 1995, Chris left due to a salary dispute, but you can't say he hasn't been doing great since then. He had some amazing roles in Sex and the City, The Good Wife and even in some pretty amazing movies.
Carolyn McCormick as Dr. Elizabeth Olivet
Carolyn was one of the main attractions of the first episodes of the series we're all in love with - yeah, it's Law and Order that we're talking about - but then she came back for the Special Victims Unit. We would've loved to see her more on TV since then, but sadly, she's only been on Elementary.
Carey Lowell as D.A. Jamie Ross
Carey played District Attorney Jamie Ross in Law and Order: Trial by Jury, and let's face it. We all loved her. She did star in C Street too, but nothing compares to how amazing she was during her good on old days.
Benjamin Bratt as Detective Rey Curtis
In the show, Detective Rey Curtis left the NY homicide squad soon after he found out that his wife was diagnosed with MS, and just like you, we wish he had stayed at least a bit longer. Anyway, he did star in Miss Congeniality and Traffic afterwards, sooo he's good.
