In 2010, Jaqi and Kevin Clements welcomed their beautiful twins into the world. Although Leah and Ava were born premature, the girls were declared healthy and from then on, life was no longer 'ordinary' for the Clements.
The two girls possess a rare and similar beauty to each other. Take a look at the images of the Clement twins who have already begun professional modeling and no, for once these models are not a result of good plastic surgery!
Leah and Ava's Early Arrival. The twins were too excited to join the world and arrived four and a half weeks before their expected due date. The Clements celebrated their surprise arrival on the 7th of July 2010. Jaqi explained that “knowing their personalities now it makes total sense that they would show up early, unannounced, and ready to take on anything.”
So what exactly were the strangers saying?
Natural Born Stars
From the get-go, it was impossible to deny the twins exotic and striking beauty. Sure, all babies are cute in their own way, but these two had something rare.
Whether it's their airbrushed looking skin, their golden spun hair or their identical faces, these babies were made for magazines and everyone was commenting.
Everyone Said The Same Thing: They Should Be Models!
It is only polite to compliment someone's children and every parent is bias. However, if you hear something repetitively, you should probably listen. People kept saying to Jaqi..
“Wow they are so beautiful, you should really think about getting them into modeling,” And so she decided to take a shot at starting the girls’ modeling careers.
Two's a crowd, Three's a party.
After continuously being told, the girls should model, Jaqi decided to take everyone's advice. By the tender age of 6 months, the two had signed with an agency in Los Angeles.
However, their first attempt at modeling only lasted three months. Jaqi explained that it was too difficult having to juggle three children and their full-time career. “It was hard enough to get out of the door most days so my attempt back then was short lived and I decided it just wasn’t the time,” Jaqi expressed.
Leading A Normal Life
Although having two models sounds like an exciting life, the Clements decided that it was in the best interest of the girls to lead a normal life and grow up alongside their friends.
The Clemens never regretted the decision to pull the girls out of modeling. At the time, it was the right thing to do, but with beauty like that... these girls are far from "normal".
What Do The Girls Want?
Jaqi had her heart set on being a mother to three children, who could grow up in a normal environment, where they can decide their futures when the time comes. Jaqi had no desire pressure the girls into something she was not sure they even wanted.
However, the girls had not voiced their opinion on their modeling life and Jaqi wanted to ensure they were able to follow their dreams, whatever they may be.
Waiting For The Right Moment
The only problem with asking two little toddlers what they want for their future, is well, they're toddlers. They weren’t old enough to make this kind of decision for themselves or even have an opinion on the matter.
The Clements were at a loss for ideas and wondered when the right time would be to ask the girls if this is something they would want.
Lucky Number Seven
We should mention that Jaqi has always believed in signs and upheld that seven is her lucky number. The twins were born on 7/7 so that probably has a little something to do with that.
The girl’s seventh birthday was approaching. The thought of them turning seven on July 7, 2017, led Jaqi to believe this was an obvious sign.
Giving The Girls The Idea
By the time Ava and Leah were seven years old, they were still identical in looks but couldn't be more different in personality. They were involved in several extracurricular activities such as dancing and swimming.
On their birthday, Jaqi said, “I presented my idea to the girls that, if they were up for it, in addition to their dance classes and swim team practices they had every week, they could give modeling a try.” How do you think the girls responded?
Ready For Action
Jaqi says the girls are in no way camera shy or intimidated by all the attention. Friends, neighbors, and strangers are welcomed audiences for Ava and Leah. Jaqi claims she doesn’t know where they got this trait from, to love performing.
Jaqi said, “I was not surprised at all when they started jumping up and down and couldn’t wait to begin!” The twins were all in for modeling.
And The Modeling Kicks Off Again
Once the girls were excited about modeling, coincidentally, Jaqi's neighbor was opening up a children's boutique and needed some pretty faces for her marketing.
The twins got the job. “Plus, I needed some new photos if I was going to get them an agent so I figured this would be a great opportunity for all of us,” Jaqi explained
Slow and steady wins the race.
At the tender age of seven, it could be detrimental to instill the idea of what beauty "should be". To have the girls believe that in order to be 'camera ready' they need to have loads of make up or be in specific clothing. Having said that, Jaqi knew it was important to go slow.
Jaqi took matters into her own hands at the beginning. “I dug out my 10-year-old Nikon camera from a bin in the garage, put a few waves in the girl’s hair, dabbed on a little blush, and out we went to take some pictures,” said Jaqi.
Some Wrinkles To Iron Out
Ava and Leah definitely look like natural born models, but to be photogenic is not genetic.
“Ava would look at the camera while Leah would stare off into space… Leah would accidentally bump into Ava who of course thought it was on purpose and would shove her back,” Jaqi recalled. They’re young, and she had to cut them a lot of slack.
Reconnecting with agencies.
The Clements were all on board for modeling. However, it had been six years since the girls were last with an agency. Jaqi worried that she would struggle.
“I still had a handful of contacts, so I decided to start there,” she said. “To my surprise, I heard back from almost every single one asking to set up a time to meet the girls.” They ended up signing with two agencies but trouble brewed behind the scenes.
Double Agency Drama
Jaqi thought that having two agencies representing her daughters would result in more exposure and opportunity for them. Everything was going fine until one of the agencies raised a dilemma.
“Hi, we wanted to let you know we were able to get the girls straight through to a callback for a Barbie Audition tomorrow,” the agent told Jaqi. She panicked because the girls had just gone to the same audition with their other agent. She was honest about the situation and the issue was resolved.
Instagram exposed
Jaqi started an Instagram for the girls called @clementstwins in July of 2017. She had no clue what she was doing but 300 000 followers later, the page began to explode.
The goal of the Instagram account was to serve as a portfolio for agencies and to gain a fanbase. It ended up becoming the gift that kept on giving.
Jaqi’s Instagram secret
It takes more than just beauty to model, Jaqi revealed that she used some tactics to get the crowds attention.
“Now, a little over five months later, the girls have over 380,000 followers,” she started. “One thing I know for sure if it’s ALL about the pictures… so don’t settle for an average photographer because you want to save a few dollars.” Well, there's a good tip.
Lucky Number 2017
Well here's that lucky number 7 coming in to play again. 2017 proved to be a great year for @theclementstwins.
“Aside from the fact that I’m a huge believer in signs and have been told by almost everyone that 7 is a lucky number, I just had a feeling that this year was going to be a fun and exciting year for them,” Jaqi explained. We can't deny that there truly is nothing as reliable as a mother's intuition.
Genetics
You didn't think we forgot about the third Clements kid did you? This family has a batch of good genes because Chase too, is a model. More than that, he can act and has been in a few commercials.
Crazy for Clements
These princesses couldn't go unnoticed and it wasn't long before agencies began to see their potential. The girls had six jobs over one week.
While this might have tired most little girls out they couldn’t get enough of it and wanted to do more.
Behind the camera
Jaqi had a lot to learn when it came to this industry and had no experience going in. As she matures in the business, she has learned there are highs and lows.
On her blog, she lists the good, the bad and ugly aspects of this modeling culture. She says the most important thing she’s learned, “is before trusting someone to guide you, make sure you know who you are getting involved with.”
Carsick
For the girls and their mother, one of the hardest parts of their modeling schedule is the LA traffic.
They go into downtown Los Angeles several times a week which can sometimes turn into 5 to 6 hour-long roundtrip drives. Although this may sound impossible, to get two children to sit patiently for hours, the girls have adapted.
Going with your gut
Since Jaqi sometimes requires guidance but needs to ensure she’s getting the right advice from the right people, she has a method of questions that she asks herself before working with someone.
She believes that if anything ever seems off, to go with your gut feeling and to always do thorough research, because it will pay off in the long run. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Taking the high road
Jaqi also discusses the struggles of dealing with negative comments directed at her daughters or her family. However, she understands that not all feedback will be positive.
She feels a lot of pressure to protect her family and fight back but reminds herself that “If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.”
“They Look Sad”
Many have said that these girls often look sad in their pictures, giving the impression that they are unhappy or being forced to model.
They respond by explaining that some photoshoots are supposed to be more solemn then others and that if you ever met them, you’d know that they are definitely not sad.
Is that Makeup
The public are often curious to know whether or not the girls are wearing makeup. Not all of the public feel this way. However, there are some who.
However, Jaqi comments by saying “ln most every job the girl’s book through their agency, or any professional photo shoot they attend, there is a hired hair and makeup artist on set. Why!? Because that’s how the industry works.”
"Let them be kids"
Jaqi has mastered taking the high road when it comes to negative feedback from the public. However, there is one comment that she truly cannot stand and that is when people say "let them be kids"
Jaqi feels this comment is most annoying as it implies that she is forcing the children to do this when truly, this is their hobby and how they want to spend their time.
More than models
Indeed, modeling does take up the majority of their time. However, they are still normal little girls inside. They still get silly, love to make playlists and even get on each other's nerves.
However, the two have always liked to dance and used to do it in front of the camera before they started modeling. These girls love the camera and the camera loves them back.
Making lemonade out of lemons
The girls have a busy schedule filled with traveling for shoots but the Clements never let that get in the way of their family time.
They describe each trip as being a new experience that they get to share and they spend more time together than most families because of it. They love to meet people and make adventures of their work.
Perks
In addition to spending more time as a family and meeting new kids their age with similar interests, there's more!
The girls sent new clothes and products to try out for other companies and love testing them out at photo shoots. They assist the marketing of the company by tagging them in their photos or giving them a shoutout on their social media accounts.
Steps For Instagram Success
You don’t get 300,000 Instagram followers in such a short amount of time without some sort of method.
Jaqi has revealed to us the secrets that turned her little girls from regular Instagram users to Instagram sensations. Even Jaqi herself went from knowing little about social media to some sort of expert. Let's take a look at Jaqi's Instagram tips.
Don’t Over do it
In order to make sure that people don’t get bored or bothered by your account, Jaqi recommends that one should post in moderation but still frequently.
The accounts that post too often are often unfollowed as people get annoyed with one page clogging up their newsfeed. This is one of the secrets to gaining and maintaining followers.

Another skill to master is the art of hashtags. Jaqi has discovered the key formula with certain hashtags to ensure maximum exposure for the girls. There is a fine line between too much and too little when it comes to hashtags.
She uses similar hashtags to other models their age so they can be found through other model’s accounts as well. Very sneaky and smart mama bear!
Tag, they're it!
Another useful tool is tagging. Not only does this show appreciation to whoever was involved in the shoot, but the picture will also appear on the page of whoever is tagged, resulting in even more publicity!
Jaqi also mentions whoever is tagged both in the picture and in the caption to make sure that the tag doesn’t go unnoticed.
Following the right people
One can gain followers based on who they follow themselves. Jaqi learned to follow everyone, including all of the other kid models, photographers, kids stores, and any other relevant pages.
Then, after they had a big following, she went back and kept following only the pages they wanted to follow.
Don't forget to comment
Jaqi didn't stop at good hashtags or captions, she also became talented in the area of commenting.
Jaqi would comment on other model’s photos, photographers, and other accounts to initiate contact with them and make a connection. This helped the girls form relationships with people in the industry, as well as, more exposure.
Trendy
Jaqi paid close attention to the responses each photo received as some photos were liked more than others.
The family began to notice the pattern, that they got more likes on pictures where the two were captured together and similar features such as their eyes were next to each other. This draws people into the picture and makes the images more unique.
Where did you get that outfit?
These girls had it all for their modeling career. However, for this generation, fashion is equally as important.
and therefore these girls had to a=make sure to be as fashionable as possible with the perfect clothes suited to them. they would borrow from their neighbor who, luckily, ran a boutique for children's clothes. in turn for lending them clothes, the girls would promote her shop on their Instagram page in return.
Honesty Is The Best Policy
One of the morals that the Clements have learnt through this experience is to always be honest.
Whether it’s working with an agency, photographer, or other models, it is important to say exactly how you feel and keep things clean between everyone and makes you a likable person in the business.
They Will Only Continue If They Want To
For the girls and their older brother, the family reached an agreement that this career will continue as long as everyone is happy and everything is running smoothly.
Their parents will always support the dreams of their children and whether that is a career in modelling or not, is totally up to them.
The Twins have tons of friends
Jaqi is relieved that through such a superficial industry, the girls still manage to make many friends along the way.
“ meet a new ‘friend’ for 10 minutes at an audition or a shoot and are already asking me if this new friend can be their cousin, because a simple friendship just doesn’t quite express the love they have for their new friend,” Jaqi writes on her blog.
It costs to be cool
Jaqi made sure to stipulate that just because these girls are booked for multiple gigs, doesn't mean the family is now rich and trouble free. She explained that it costs them money for gas, food and everything inbetween these photoshoots.
“But I guess if you really put it all into perspective, the money we as parents put out now… will allow them to make their own money they can use towards college or a car or a house in the future,” she writes.
Not everyone is trustworthy
“This by far has been one of the most stressful, upsetting, mind-boggling, and biggest lessons I’ve learned in this industry so far,” Jaqi writes on her blog.
Jaqi is referring to the agencies and other people she has encountered throughout this experience. She advises to do your research on someone before getting into business with them.

Majority of those who see this family can't deny their good looks. We’ve seen Jaqi model sometimes with her daughters, but we’re letting the father know, if he ever wants to get infront of the camera, he's more than welcome!

Since the family has made it clear that the twins enjoy modeling, what is it about this job that requires patience and effort, that is so appealing to these children?
Jaqi writes on the blog: “They like the new adventures we go on every week, never knowing where we will end up but looking forward to a new experience.”
Bonding with mama bear
This momager is the most reliable manager these girls could have. Moreover, they get to spend a great deal of time with their mom and bond.
Jaqi writes that another perk of their career is that “They like spending time in the car with each other and with me… having some girl time together.”
Mom Is Taking Negativity In Stride
Although it may seem difficult to ignore constant backlash about your own children, Jaqi turns a blind eye to those who clearly do not understand her girls.
“I definitely don’t give any light to negative comments because I know myself that they are untrue and that’s really all that matters,” Jaqi replied to a commenter on her blog.
Jaqi Makes No Effort To Stop The Negativity Either
Be kind to your enemies, they say, it will drive them crazy! Jaqi does not even try to retaliate against these comments.
Jaqi writes, “i welcome people to comment… good or bad. I don’t plan on deleting anyone’s comments even if they are negatively directed towards me because everyone is entitled to express how they feel.”
Speaking Up Is Worth It In The End
In an industry like modeling, it can be difficult to express your opinion without getting into some sort of trouble.
She writes, “I don’t want to do or say anything that will jeopardize anything for my kids but at the same time, enough is enough. If I can prevent others from going through what we have been through then it’s worth the fight!”
Climbing Clements
The Clements twins are not stopping anytime soon and although they are only in elementary school, this is just the beginning for these girls.
