The Landscapes
South Africa is immensely rich with diverse landscapes that are just waiting to be traveled and explored. On the one hand, Cape Town has crystal-clear waters and beaches with sand so soft. On the other hand, these beaches quickly turn into a big city with towering mountains. You can cycle through the mountains and witness how Kruger National Park’s landscape and animals change every 20 kilometers!
Wild Penguins
Speaking of beaches in the Cape Town area, be sure not to miss the South African penguins. Only an hour outside of Cape Town, you’ll find one of the few places in the world where you can swim and hang out with wild penguins.
The Wine
Located in the Western Cape, the Winelands (South Africa’s wine country) is home to more than 300 vineyards. Surprisingly enough, their wine is not only delicious but it is also really quite cheap! A fine bottle of wine will cost you between $4 and $8.
Hiking
If you’re a nature lover, you’ll be happy to learn that throughout the country, there are easily accessible and beautiful hikes. Cape Town has a variety of trails in the city that have incredible views that demand minimal effort. If you’re feeling lazy but want to enjoy a hiking trail at the top of Table Mountain, it has a cable car that will get you there!
