Obama In Numbers - Interesting Facts

Conservatives would usually claim Obama is the “worst president ever”. On the other hand, liberals would claimed he has “done more good for this country than any president before him.” Let's go over some of numbers that best describe Obama and his presidency.

0.5 - Unemployment Rate Decrease

Obama didn't win at a good timing. Just following the 2008 financial crisis, unemployment rate in the US reached 10 percents. On average, during Obama term the rate decreased 0.5 percent on a monthly basis.

1 - Nobel Prize Winner

In 2009 Obama won a Nobel Prize for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” as stated by the Nobel Prize Committee. Obama confirmed this is a controversy selection stating his is the Chief Commander of a nation in the middle of two wars.

Obama spent few of his years as a child in Indonesia. During that time he had a pet ape called Tata. He wrote about this experience is his memoir "Dreams from my father".

The Obama family has two Portuguese Water Dogs named Sunny and Bo. According to the American Kennel Club, this dog is not very popular in the USA, ranking only 53rd most popular dog.

3 - Long Years of "Birthers"

"Birthers" are people who claim Obama wasn't born in the USA. A rather famous one is the US President, Donald Trump. At 2007 Obama finally released his birth certificate, following that Donald said "I managed to do something no one managed to do before me".

Soon after Obama started his presidency he sent 21K troops to Afghanistan. This was the beginning of the yet-to-be-over surge in Afghanistan. While Obama still plans the withdrawal, it has been pushed-back numerous times and and currently scheduled to end at late 2017.
