This has been an auspicious year for cinema, and throughout we've seen the steady rise and maturation of a number of Hollywood stars and starlets. As we enter into the Holiday season, we take a look back over they year to see who to watch out for next year. Here we go, ladies and gentleman, the hottest stars of 2015.
Shailene Woodley is definitely on her way up, after an inauspicious start in the 1999 TV only movie "Replacing Dad", she's recently taken Hollywood by storm in teen favorites like Divergent, Insurgent, and the Fault in our stars. Big things seem ahead for her, two more Divergent movies are in the works, and she's managed to tuck another feature length film, "Snowden" in between the two.
Most notably recognized as the actress who plays Sansa Stark in HBO's "Game of Thrones" series, there are big things ahead for her as she picks up roles in "Mary Shelley's Monster" and "X-Men Apocalypse". Taking leading roles in both films, we're looking forward to seeing what this powerful starlet brings to some familiar stories.
Born in America, raised in Ireland, Saoirse Ronan already has a long career in cinema. However, it's only recently that she's started getting big roles in movies like "The Grand Budapest Hotel". With that breakthrough film she's truly become a favorite on the silver screen. Look for her in the upcoming "Loving Vincent" and "The Seagull".
Margot Robbie is a shining example of this years growing list of sparkling starlets. Born in Australia, she truly hit the big screen with "The Wolf of Wall Street" and is a much anticipated member of the upcoming "Suicide Squad" film coming out in 2016.
Another Australian born star, Kodi really hit it big with his role in "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" released in 2014. Since then he had roles in the TV Mini-series "Gallipoli" and we're looking forward to seeing him in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse".
John was born in Peckham, London, England, and has been in a number of popular films such as "Attack the Block" where he stood off against an Alien Invasion, and is hotly anticipated in the upcoming Star Wars film. Hopefully it won't be another embarassment to the franchise like the ill-considered sequels and remasterings.
Hailee Steinfield< was born in 1996, making her one of the younger number of starlets rising up. Pitch Perfect 2 really opened doors for her, and the block-buster Ender's Game shot her into the sci-fi spotlight. Pitch Perfect 3 is coming out around the corner, and is sure to be another big success for this actress.
He's definitely come a long way since his start in 2006. With roles starting in Californication and Law & Order SVU, he's climbed the ladder to stardom and will be appearing in "The Flash". Keep an eye on this one!
Elizabeth Olsen comes to use out of Sherman Oaks, CA, and is the younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley of Full House fame. her roles in Captain America: Winter Soldier and the 2014 Godzilla catapulted her into stardom, and we'll be seeing her as Scarlet Witch in the new Captain America film, Civil War."
Straight out of London, Cara Develingne recently hit the big screen in Pan and Anna Karenina. She's hotly anticipated as Enchantress in the upcoming Suicide Squad film, and is currently engaged in the production of Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
